Forget Me Not
User manual
Thirteen chapters covering every screen in the app. Read it end to end if you like, or come straight to the part you are stuck on — each chapter stands on its own.
-
Chapter 1
Getting started
What you need, the welcome guide, and every permission the app asks for — what it is for, what happens without it, and how to change your mind later.
-
Chapter 2
Reminders
Making one, editing it, and everything on the form: dates, times, all-day, repeats, Important, alerts before the event, location, fields, and the switches folded under Advanced.
-
Chapter 3
Quick add
A whole reminder in one line, typed or spoken. What it can understand, what it does when it cannot, and how to correct it before it saves.
-
Chapter 4
The three views
The itinerary, the Upcoming list and the calendar. Searching, sorting, filtering by category, and skipping one occurrence of a repeat.
-
Chapter 5
Notifications and alarms
How a reminder arrives, snoozing and dismissing, Important reminders that take the screen, chase-ups, and the sound each one makes.
-
Chapter 6
Categories and icons
Grouping reminders, and giving a category an icon — one of the packs the app ships with, or one of your own — a colour, and its own notification sound.
-
Chapter 7
Fields
Adding information the app never thought of. Text, dates, numbers and money, with default values, icons, and suggestions from what you have typed before.
-
Chapter 8
Sharing a reminder
Sending one reminder to somebody else, and what happens when one arrives for you.
-
Chapter 9
Calendar import and export
Putting reminders into the phone's calendar and bringing events out of it — and the handful of things that cannot make the trip.
-
Chapter 10
Backup and restore
One file holding everything, where to keep it, and how to put it back on this phone or a new one.
-
Chapter 11
Settings
Every setting in the app, section by section, and what changing it actually does.
-
Chapter 12
Troubleshooting
Reminders that do not arrive, arrive late, or arrive without a sound — and how to tell which of those you have.
-
Chapter 13
The trial and buying the app
Fourteen days in full, what stops when they are up, what is kept, and what one payment puts back.
The screenshots in this manual were taken on a phone running Android 16, in the dark theme. Your own screens will differ a little between Android versions and between a phone and a tablet, but every control named here is in the same place.
The colourful icons on the categories and fields are the three packs the app ships with, chosen exactly as anyone would choose them under Choose icon → Icon packs…. Credits says who drew each one, and Chapter 6 covers the one page that uses something downloaded instead, to show what that looks like too.
